As part of our ministry, John Wesley United Methodist Church holds a luncheon every other month for inmate trustees who are incarcerated. The Victoria County Sheriff's Office brings the inmates to the church where they are given a great meal and an opportunity to spend time outside the constraints of jail. A short devotion or inspirational program is given and entertainment is provided. Each inmate attending receives a bible and special gift.

One of the favorite inmate meals is our special Texas BBQ. Smoked brisket, sausage and all the trimmings makes for a great outing. Typically, we prepare food for 70-75 which includes inmates, Sheriff's deputies, guests, and congregation members. A number of Simple Truths books and DVDs are being used in our programs and, without exception, each program has been very, very successful. All the books are top notch and the accompanying DVDs are excellent. Many inmates contact us later to say our Christian fellowship and the programs we present brought about life altering changes in them.
