From Carly Williams of Everett, Washington. At age 44 I realized I
was waiting to die...not getting busy living. The Dash's message
had a profound effect on my life. Scared and excited I packed up my
house and moved to the area (another state) I had wanted to live
in...and once I made the decision..took action and walked though
the door and began living my dash...I have been reborn...thank YOU
Thank You Simple Truths
From James R. Bowman of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. I initially
ordered two cases of The Dash thinking at first they would be
special gifts for special people. Then it began to work on me in a
profound way and I began giving them to everyone. Why? Because my
own vision was uplifted and clarified and I realized that I know no
one who was not a special person deserving of a special gift. Mac,
we are beyond grateful for everything you do and everything you

I had purchased the original Dash and after reading I share it with my cousin who told me she was never giving it back to me. So when I saw this new one I had to have it. I could not put it down once I started....The stories that was added from others that have read the original Dash all brought me to tears every page I read....My mother saw me reading it and I was crying and she asked me what was wrong, after finishing it I let her read it, she told me on Saturday that I will need to buy another again because I will not be getting it back. I think I will have to purchase a case.

I had purchased a copy of THE DASH a few years ago. Both my husband and I truly have tried to live our lives in the way we would want to be remembered. Before my husband died in July of 2012, he planned his "Celebration of Life" service. He wanted THE DASH to be included in the service. As per his wishes, this was done. Many, many people had never heard of THE DASH and were very touched by its' message. Our son and I were very pleased that, even after my husband's death, he was still able to reach people(he was a guidance counselor for 39 years)through the message of THE DASH. Thank-you. Theresa Vaughn
From Janelle Stimson of COEUR D ALENE, Idaho on 1/19/2013.
I have purchased many books from this company. One of which is Dash. I have read many of them and have watched many of the DVD's. I have not completed reading Dash; however, have read much of it and it is amazing. I would recommend this book along with almost any book on this site. They are all amazing. My husband has put me on a budget for the time being as I have bought way to many to read for the time being. I have to read about a quarter of the book when I get one so I have all these books about a quarter read that need to be finished they are all so great with fantastic authors. Thank You all!

From T. N. of Kansas City, Missouri on 12/30/2012.
I shared this book with fellow members of a grief class I have been attending. We all had lost a spouse, parent or child, some just a few months earlier, some a few years ago. I got 'The Dash' email video just a couple of weeks after my husband's passing and it articulated beautifully what I had been thinking about my husband's 'dash'. He pretty much lived it to the fullest and with the principles outlined in the story.I thought it was a way to honor my husband, but also provide some comfort and inspiration to my fellow grievers.I've gotten very positive comments from those in my group that have read it. They had heard me talk about 'the dash' and were thrilled to have it for themselves.
From Bonnie Piotrowski of Arlington Hts, Illinois on 12/26/2012.
I originally ordered 5 copies of this book but, after reading it, I decided I will give these books as birthday gifts to people who have an importance in my life. Loved the additional stories! The Dash is a source of motivation for me... a true metaphor for life itself. I am actually planning on using it as a part of a writing workshop I'm doing next week for a nearby school. In light of the terrible school shooting yesterday, it really hit home for me and became part of my blog too.

From Dr. Andrew Sears of Saginaw, Michigan on 10/29/2012.
The Dash is a simple yet very powerful poem that makes people sit up and take note of what matters and what doesn't matter in life. All too often we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life with things that in the end have no relevance whatsoever and the DASH helps bring us back to reality. I have used this simple poem at eulogies and during empowerment talks and the reaction was "WOW!Where can I get that book?" Thank you Linda Ellis and Mac Anderson
From Bonnie of Butler, Pennsylvania on 10/29/2012.
This is an excellent book that could be read every day, almost like a devotional, to remind us what is important in life. I bought several to give as memorial gifts. I truly believe this world would be a better place if everyone would read it and take it to heart!

The truth of "The Dash" is the Dash its' self--Reading the book, You,the reader, become the dash-- very revealing, an awakening of self value and understanding-- JEM III
From Diane Lizza Sanders of Canyon Lake, Texas on 10/21/2012.
No matter how many times I read this book it gives me chills. If a person can't get this message of what is and what isn't important in life, I don't think they would get it. I know many of us in life want a certain amount of financial freedom AND time freedom, but at what cost? This book reminds me to keep that in mind.
From jdahmer of lees summit , Missouri on 10/20/2012.
excellent 5 star
From Linda Smee of Mobile, Alabama on 10/18/2012.
"The Dash" is an awesome book. It is very much the manner that I was raised. I try to live by it. I believe that Linda Ellis captured what I call "A Celebration of One's Life." The first part of dignity in death is celebrating the way that one has lived their dash. I heard this first when it was new, borrowed it from our library at work, returned it to order five more. They were and have been the source of comfort and guidance to many. Thank you, Linda, for this remarkable book.
From Judy Rye of El Paso, Texas on 10/7/2012.

A Celebration of Life
From Anonymous of Mobile, Alabama on 10/5/2012.
I must tell you that I sent "The Dash" to my sister in Georgia. I do not view death or anything as negative. It should not be. Linda wrote "the Dash" as a beautiful way to live life and find happiness. At the funeral, my sisters said that as the widow, Cherie, read the poem, everyone was very reflective... like asking themselves! Have I ever thought about these things before and if I have not maybe I should! My family agrees that it is a book about the "the Celebration of a Life." It arrived amazingly enough on the morning that her husband died, so she was allowed to read to many Linda Ellis poignant poem. There was not a dry eye in the house... Thank you, Linda

I first read the poem "The Dash" in a magazine a couple of years ago. For some reason it just hit me right in my core being. Life can be so short, but the way you spend it can be a lifetime. I purchased a copy of the book for myself plus one as a gift, and I also have the framed inspiration sitting behind my desk at work.
